Recent polarimetric observations have allowed a deeper
insight in the structure of Gamma-Ray Burst outflows and the geometry
of the embedded magnetic field. The old paradigm of a uniform
baryon-dominated jet with a well-defined beaming angle had to be
abandoned in favor of a more complex scenario, in which the magnetic
field has a non negligible degree of alignment and the energy of the
outflow is more concentrated in its core. I will discuss the
theoretical understanding of this issues and the observational
evidences at hand, pointing out also the future direction that will
allow us to gain a deeper understanding of these interesting issues.
