The ENEAR project is an all-sky survey of nearby early-type galaxies. About 2000 new spectra plus an equal number of R-band images and available published data are assembled into a large catalog containing about 1900 galaxies with redshift, velocity dispersion, photometric parameters, and line strengths on a uniform system. This extensive database allows extraction of subsamples for mapping the peculiar velocity field and for stellar population studies. I will present some general properties of the ENEAR database as well as the technique employed in building a Dn-sigma relation using cluster galaxies. Finally, results from a preliminary analysis of the peculiar velocity field will also be presented and compared to previous work.
